Aristocrat Chair Loses Re-Election

AUSTRALIA – As reported by the Age: "John Ducker was a no show at the annual meeting of poker-machine maker Aristocrat Leisure yesterday.

"It was clear before the meeting that the former chairman could lose his bid for re-election to the board, with the Australian Shareholders Association leading a campaign against him.

"Shareholders yesterday did not get the chance to question Mr Ducker - who was absent on medical grounds - but they overwhelmingly voted against his re-election.

"His departure follows the sacking of CEO Des Randall and chief financial officer Lionel Jeyaraj in April last year after the gaming machine company's shares and profits slumped.

"Aristocrat now has a new chief executive in Paul Oneile, a new chief financial officer, Simon Kelly, and a new chairman, John Pascoe, who were left to face the heat over last year's performance from shareholders…"
