Argosy Wins Dip for February21 March 2002OHIO—As reported by the Cincinnati Enquirer: "The world's most popular gambling boat — the Argosy Casino in Lawrenceburg — was the only Ohio River casino not to make more money in February than in January. "Numbers released Wednesday from the Indiana Gaming Commission show that two of three riverboat casinos in southeastern Indiana took in more money in February than the previous month. "And all won more money last month than in February 2001. "… At the Argosy, which has more admissions than any other gambling boat, the win was down $100,000 from last month but up about $1.6 million from February 2001. " But the Grand Victoria in Rising Sun saw revenues leap by $1.1 million from January to February and showed the first signs of shaking a downward trend. "…The Belterra Casino, which is about halfway between Cincinnati and Louisville in Florence, Ind., increased revenues by $1.5 million over February 2001 and had about 51,000 more visitors." |
