Argosy Names New VP of Development

ALTON, Illinois – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Argosy Gaming Company (NYSE: AGY) today announced the appointment of Michele Wimpling as Vice President of Development. In her new role, Ms. Wimpling will report directly to Richard J. Glasier, Argosy's President and Chief Executive Officer.

Wimpling has 20 years of diverse development experience, with broad real estate finance background in the areas of transactions, asset management and business development. She joined Argosy in 2003 following 18 months with a professional financial consulting firm in Phoenix, Arizona.

From 1997 to 2001, Wimpling was a Principal and Senior Vice President of Acquisitions and Business Development with Olympus Real Estate Corporation, a diversified real estate private equity firm based in Dallas Texas. Her roles included responsibilities for hotel and resort acquisitions, asset management, financing and dispositions and later within the hotel and resort management business was responsible for the growth of the company through acquisitions and third-party management contracts.

"Michele has been an important part of our development activities and now, in her new role as head of our development team, will contribute to Argosy on a higher level," said Richard J. Glasier, President and Chief Executive Officer of Argosy Gaming Company.

Wimpling takes over the development department following the departure of Joy Berry, who is returning to a senior development position in the hotel industry. Wimpling received an undergraduate degree from New Mexico State University and a certificate in international management from Thunderbird University. She resides in Clayton, Missouri.
