Argosy Gaming Company Names CEO to Board

ALTON, Illinois – (Press Release) -- Argosy Gaming Company (NYSE: AGY) announced that the Board of Directors has voted to appoint Richard J. Glasier, the Company's President and Chief Executive Officer, to serve as a director until the annual meeting of shareholders in 2006.

Glasier has 25 years of senior management experience in the cruise line, hotel, entertainment and gaming industries. Glasier joined Argosy as President in July of 2002 and was named CEO in May of this year.

William F. Cellini, Chairman of the Board of Argosy Gaming Company, on behalf of the Board of Directors, said, "Dick Glasier is an outstanding leader recognized for his business acumen, whose smooth transition to CEO has been well received by the employees, the management team and the financial community. We are very pleased to add his presence to Argosy's Board of Directors."

Glasier has held various management positions in the cruise line, hotel, entertainment and gaming industries. While at Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., he was a key member of the management team that orchestrated Royal Caribbean's growth over the past two decades. Glasier received a Bachelor of Arts Economics Degree from Cornell College in 1967 and a MBA Finance Degree from Southern Methodist University in 1968.
