Arena Contracts to Net Over $2 Million

UNITED KINGDOM – As reported by the Thoroughbred Times: "Arena Leisure, owner of six British racecourses, is slated to gain an additional $2,498,101 a year in income from the broadcast of live racing to betting shops, beginning in 2005, after agreeing to a new five-year contract with Bookmakers Afternoon Greyhound Service worth more than $66-million.

"…Ian Penrose, managing director of Arena Leisure, has vowed to use a portion of the income to enhance its racing and spectator facilities at Lingfield Park, Wolverhampton, Southwell, Windsor, Worcester, and Folkestone…"
