Appeals Court Supports Class-Action Lawsuit Dismissal12 August 2004LAS VEGAS, Nevada – As reported by the Associated Press: "The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals on Tuesday affirmed a federal district court decision that denied class-action status to a lawsuit against more than 60 casinos, slot machine manufacturers and cruise lines. "The suit alleged that slot operators misrepresented the odds of winning. "…Legal action began in April 1994, when slot player William Poulos, one of three named plaintiffs and proposed class representatives, filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court in Florida under federal racketeering and organized crime laws, as well as state laws on fraud and deceit…" |
