Apollo Group Enters India's Online Lottery Market

NEW DELHI, India – As reported by the Hindu Business Line: “The Rs 2,300 crore Apollo Group today announced its foray into the online lottery market under the brand name `Lottus' and said that the company would be investing Rs 250 crore (US$54.5 million) in the venture in the next three years.

“…Entering a 10 per cent growth market, Mr Raaja Kanwar, Joint Managing Director, Apollo International Ltd, said about two million people play lottery games daily and `Lottus' has entered into a partnership agreement with the Arunachal Pradesh Government.

“…Banking on Apollo's vast network in the country, Apollo International Managing Director, Mr Sunil Tandon said that Lottus has tried to bring together the best blend of professionals, technology and customer service to provide a fully transparent online lottery experience.

“He said that the company has technical agreement with Jupiters International of Australia for sourcing `customer friendly' online lottery technology in the country…”
