Antiguan Gaming Official Says Two Firms Have Never Been Licensed22 February 2000The government official in charge of offshore gaming for Antigua says that two companies have falsely claimed to be licensed there. They are Emutualfun.com and Emutualfuncasino.com. In a statement today, Gyneth McAllister, Antigua's Director of Offshore Gaming, said: 'The Directorate of Offshore Gaming of Antigua and Barbuda wishes to advise the general public that all claims made by Emutualfun.com and Emutualfuncasino.com that they are licensed in the jurisdiction of Antigua and Barbuda are false. "These companies are unknown to us and do not now nor have they ever held a gaming license of any kind in this jurisdiction.'' The manager of the site www.emutualfun.com said Tuesday night that the site was down due to server problems. He said the site will be up again. Emutualfun.com is a site for playing virtual stocks with real money. The manager, who requested that his name not be used, said he thought his site was operating under the license of another site that is licensed in Antigua. "I got scammed,'' the manager said. He said he paid money to an individual who claimed to own legitimately licensed sites for Internet wagering. It turns out, he said, that the individual does not own those sites. |
