Anti-Casino Group Visits Montana Neighborhoods7 January 2003MONTANA – As reported by the Stop at any neighborhood council meeting this week and it's a sure thing you'll hear about casinos. "George Gallagher and Loran Keller of the Fox Farm area's Stop the Casino Group are visiting four council meetings to discuss the controversy involving a proposal to build another casino in their neighborhood. In addition, one of the four councils meeting this week has its own proposed casino to discuss. "…Gallagher and Keller are carrying the ball in the fight against allowing more gaming along Fox Farm Road. "…The City-County Planning Board has already gone on record in opposition to the rezoning proposal, which also affects other properties in Great Falls where casinos are operating under variances granted in the 1960s and 1970s. Another casino on Fox Farm Road also was opened in 2000, based on the historic practice of allowing bars and casinos on property zoned for local business use…" |
