Another Critic Against Mohegan Diversification Plan21 July 2005CONNECTICUT – As reported by the Connecticut Day: "A second Connecticut casino critic is now working against the Mohegan Tribe's diversification effort in Washington state. "Bradley W. Beecher, a former state police lieutenant whose post-retirement stint as an investigator at Mohegan Sun ended with his termination –– and ensuing lawsuits –– said Wednesday that he is working with a group called Stand Up For Clark County. The citizens' group is working to stop a casino that the Cowlitz Indians, with help from the Mohegans, are attempting to build in an unincorporated area of Clark County. "Beecher, who wants to cash in on his experience in gaming, regulation and security, recently started Thetis Consulting. He said a representative of Stand Up For Clark County asked for help and that he is putting together a plan for the group. At this point, he said, he is providing his services for free. "…Benedict said Wednesday that it is not too late to stop the Cowlitz and Mohegan tribes from building what would become the fifth-largest casino in the world. "…The Mohegans, hoping to expand their gaming prowess beyond their Mohegan Sun casino, are working on casino plans with the Cowlitz and with the Menominee tribe of Wisconsin…"
