Analyst: Argosy Looking to Expand East12 August 2003MISSOURI – As reported by the Kansas City Star: “Argosy Gaming Co. is expanding in Kansas City and someplace else, soon, it seems. “Fulcrum Global Partners gaming analyst Joseph Greff recently was host for an investors' seminar with Argosy Chief Executive Richard Glasier. Greff reports from that session that the company is aggressivley seeking to dilute its exposure to the high tax markets of Illinois and Indiana. “…Greff said Glasier told investors the company is looking hard at opportunities in states like Pennsylvania, Ohio and Maryland that may soon legalize slots. The company may also look at opportunities in Atlantic City, N.J., and could be interested in an unnamed Ohio racetrack. “Meanwhile, Glasier told investors he expects Argosy's expanded Kansas City operation to open later this year and then increase its market share from 17 percent to the 22 percent to 23 percent range. We've noted that prediction and will be watching…” |
