Ameristar Casinos Missouri Chief Out

LAS VEGAS –(Press Release) -- Ameristar Casinos, Inc. (Nasdaq: ASCA) announced today that John Finamore is no longer employed as president of Missouri operations. Mr. Finamore joined the company in December 2000 in connection with the acquisition of casino- entertainment facilities in Kansas City and St. Charles, Missouri.

Anthony Raymon, senior vice president and general manager of Ameristar St. Charles, and Thomas Burke, senior vice president and general manager of Ameristar Kansas City, both of whom also joined the company in connection with the acquisition, will continue in their current positions. The company does not intend to replace Mr. Finamore, and Messrs. Raymon and Burke will report to Ameristar President and CEO Craig H. Neilsen and Angie Baker, senior vice president of operations.

Additionally, Ameristar management announced that Tony Taeubel, the current general manager of Ameristar Council Bluffs, has resigned effective March 7. Dave Albrecht, the general manager of Cactus Petes, an American Automobile Association Four Diamond Ameristar property, and The Horseshu, both in Jackpot, NV, will also serve as the interim general manager at that property and will report to Ray Neilsen, senior vice president and general manager of Ameristar Vicksburg. Neilsen was responsible for opening Ameristar Casino Council Bluffs in 1996 and led the casino entertainment facility through several expansions and enhancements. Under his tenure, the property also obtained the prestigious American Automobile Association Four Diamond designation for quality and customer service. In addition to guiding Albrecht's activities, Neilsen will continue to oversee the Vicksburg operations.
