American Gaming Association launches casino industry site5 December 2007The American Gaming Association (AGA) announced the launch of The Real Deal (www.americangaming.org/realdeal/home.cfm), a new Web site with information on the latest topics in the commercial casino industry. Featuring blog-like posts, insider news, opinions and research, The Real Deal is a comprehensive resource for industry executives and members of the media covering gaming issues. The Real Deal also includes The Chairman's Corner, featuring commentary from AGA Chairman Gary Loveman, the president, chairman and CEO of Harrah's Entertainment. "The Real Deal is a dynamic new vehicle that allows the gaming industry to provide the whole story on the topics garnering significant attention across the country," said Frank Fahrenkopf, Jr., president and CEO of the AGA. "As gaming issues become increasingly complex and affect communities in a growing number of states, the AGA wants to ensure a thoughtful, comprehensive discussion among all who represent and cover the casino gaming entertainment industry." The first issue of The Real Deal focuses on the casino experiences of seniors, a topic receiving frequent media attention. The premiere post includes a letter to the editor from a senior in Mobile, Ala. on her casino experiences and Loveman's view on gambling activities among seniors. Readers can also find additional information on the topic, including several independent studies on the impact of casino gambling on seniors.
