American Gaming Association and Top Executives to Speak at Global Gaming Expo8 May 2001NORWALK, Connecticut –(Press Release) -- May 8, 2001 -- Global Gaming Expo (G2E) announced today that the board of directors of the American Gaming Association (AGA) and other top industry executives representing the world's leading casino operators and equipment manufacturers will speak at the AGA's first annual trade show and conference. G2E, the only international gaming event organized by the industry and for the industry, will take place Oct. 1-3, 2001, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, its host venue through 2020. The AGA board members participating in keynotes and panel discussions during the conference portion of the show include the following: William Boyd, chairman of Boyd Gaming Corporation; Donald Carano, CEO of Eldorado Hotel & Casino; Thomas Gallagher, president and CEO of Park Place Entertainment Corporation; J. Terrence Lanni, chairman of MGM MIRAGE; Charles Mathewson, chairman of International Game Technology (IGT); William Newby, managing director of Bank of America; Larry Ruvo, senior managing director of Southern Wine & Spirits of Nevada; Philip Satre, chairman and CEO of Harrah's Entertainment; Glenn Schaeffer, president, CFO and treasurer of Mandalay Resort Group; and David Thompson, chairman and CEO of Mikohn Gaming Corporation. Other top executives involved include Des Randall, CEO of Aristocrat; Don Snyder, president of Boyd Gaming Corporation; and Frank J. Fahrenkopf, Jr., president and CEO of the AGA. ``G2E will offer operators like MGM MIRAGE a comprehensive lineup of industry suppliers, including all the major manufacturers, as well as a conference program that will enhance our employees' skills and introduce them to the newest concepts in their fields,' Lanni said. ``It's just good business sense for MGM MIRAGE to contribute its time and energy to support G2E.' The chairmen and CEOs who make up the AGA board will address an array of topics important to the gaming-entertainment industry through innovative programs including NYSE or Nasdaq: How Wall Street Views the Industry, The Role of the Regulator: Do They Go Too Far or Not Far Enough; Tribal Gaming Management: Contract or Consultants; The Next Generation: The Latest Trend in Slots; Show Me the Money: Effective Financial Operations; and the State of the Industry Review. ``G2E has pulled together outstanding advisory committees comprised of leaders in the gaming-entertainment industry who have put together a conference agenda that is geared to our needs,' Gallagher said. ``I am proud to participate in G2E and help support the show that will benefit the industry directly.' G2E is an international gaming forum that will provide industry executives and operators the chance to form relationships with suppliers from around the world, as well as attend educational sessions presented by experts whose innovative, yet practical ideas can have immediate bottom line impact.
