17 September 2002

LAS VEGAS – (Press Release) --Alliance Gaming Corp. (Nasdaq: ALLY) announced today that its Bally Gaming and Systems business unit has secured the largest combined order in the Company's history as Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa opening next year in Atlantic City has contracted to order the ACSC integrated slot marketing and casino management system and approximately 1,100 Bally Gaming slot machines.

Scheduled to open in summer 2003, the $1 billion casino entertainment resort developed by Boyd Gaming Corporation (NYSE: BYD) through a joint venture with MGM MIRAGE (NYSE: MGG) and located at Renaissance Pointe will be the first new casino hotel in Atlantic City in 13 years with the largest hotel in the market offering more than 2,000 guest rooms and suites.

By securing the contract to provide the leading-edge ACSC system, Bally Gaming and Systems has reinforced its 100 percent market leadership position in Atlantic City, with every casino property in the market utilizing either SDS or ACSC slot accounting and marketing systems from Bally. The ACSC system is at the core of Borgata's plan to install advanced technologies to improve customer service. Borgata's operational focus includes cashless wagering and providing players with a wide variety of benefits while giving Borgata marketing tools and efficiencies previously unavailable in the market. Borgata will also capitalize on ACSC's exclusive real-time integration with the LMS hotel system to achieve superior levels of customer relationship management.

The casino at Borgata will cover 120,000 square feet and include more than 3,600 slot machines. Bally Gaming's 30-percent share of the total will include a variety of ProSlot 6000 reel-spinning slots as well as both EVO VIDEO and EVO HYBRID games. More than 100 wide-area progressive and daily fee games will also include aggressive marketing programs designed to capitalize on the high-profile slot titles offered to Borgata.

Borgata's order for approximately 1,100 Bally games was the second-largest among all manufacturers by a wide margin and ranks among the largest single-property slot machine orders in Bally Gaming's history.

"We've certainly enjoyed our share of success in the Atlantic City market over the years, but this combined system and slot order from Borgata truly represents a new level of accomplishment for our company in Atlantic City," said Robert Miodunski, President and Chief Executive Officer of Alliance Gaming. "We are especially proud to be a strategic partner with Boyd Gaming as Borgata takes shapes on its way to redefining the market."

"Customer service excellence is at the heart of our technology initiatives and the ACSC system is at the core of our casino systems. The choice of the ACSC system will enable us to compete successfully in the Atlantic City market," said Bob Boughner, Chief Executive Officer of Borgata. "We were also very impressed by the Bally Gaming product line and felt very comfortable with the market share Bally earned.
