Alliance Gaming, NBC Sign Licensing Agreement23 August 2002LAS VEGAS – (Press Release) -- Alliance Gaming Corp. (Nasdaq: ALLY) today announced that its Bally Gaming and Systems business unit has entered into a licensing agreement with NBC Enterprises, Inc. for a series of slot machines featuring the trademarks, art and images of the long-running television show "Saturday Night Live." Game themes scheduled to be on display at the Global Gaming Expo on Sept. 17-19, 2002 at the Las Vegas Convention Center include the Blues Brothers, Hans and Frans, Church Lady and the Coneheads. The agreement with NBC includes a relationship with Broadway Video Entertainment, the production entity behind "Saturday Night Live." Through its relationship with Broadway Video, Bally Gaming and Systems has secured the rights to showcase the talents of SNL's legendary lineup of actors, including John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Mike Myers, Dana Carvey, Adam Sandler, Gilda Radner, Chris Farley, Jane Curtain, Phil Hartman, Norm McDonald, Jon Lovitz, David Spade, Kevin Nealon, Joe Piscopo and others. "Clearly the scope of game content from 'Saturday Night Live' is virtually unlimited and will provide exciting titles for years to come," said Robert Miodunski, President and Chief Executive Officer of Alliance Gaming. "And with 27 years of history behind it, the show is an American institution that appeals to broad segments of casino visitors, both young and old." The series of SNL slots will be released on all three of Bally Gaming's main platforms -- EVO(TM) VIDEO, EVO HYBRID and ProSlot® 6000 -- and will showcase the sketches and characters that prompted The New York Times to write in 1999 that "in defiance of both time and show business convention, 'SNL' (is) still the most pervasive influence on the art of comedy in contemporary culture." One of the most decorated programs in television history, "SNL" has received 85 Emmy Award nominations since the show's debut on Oct. 11, 1975 from NBC's famed Studio 8H in New York City's Rockefeller Center. The company is engaged in the design, manufacture, distribution and operation of advanced gaming devices and systems worldwide, is the nation's largest gaming machine route operator, and operates two casinos.
