Alliance Gaming, Boyd Gaming Sign Corporate Agreement

25 February 2003

LAS VEGAS – (Press Release) -- Alliance Gaming Corp. (NYSE: AGI) announced today that it has entered into a corporate agreement with Boyd Gaming Corporation (NYSE: BYD) to supply all Boyd Gaming casino properties with a complete slot accounting, cashless and professional services solution covering approximately 14,000 slot machines.

Along with slot accounting, the agreement calls for Boyd Gaming to feature Bally eTICKET, the industry's leading single-wire ticket-in, ticket-out cashless product that is capable of working on machines from virtually every manufacturer. Marketing and bonusing products such as eCOUPON and eCASH are also part of the agreement.

Under terms of the agreement, Boyd Gaming will install the SDS slot accounting system to complement the current Boyd Gaming properties already utilizing Bally Systems' ACSC slot accounting system and the Company's recently acquired Casino Management System/400 program.

Initial installations will begin at Boyd Gaming properties in Nevada, Indiana, Illinois, Mississippi and Louisiana upon regulatory approvals, and when completed, approximately 14,000 slot machines will be operating on systems from Alliance Gaming.

"By standardizing with SDS and a suite of Bally products, Boyd Gaming's current operation will soon become an integrated casino information system, capable of a variety of cross-property promotions and customer relationship management programs," said Robert Miodunski, President and Chief Executive Officer of Alliance Gaming. "We are very pleased to be part of Boyd Gaming's vision for the future of its casino operations."

"When we began to look at consolidating our systems with one vendor, our primary goal was to be able to offer benefits to all of our players across the country," said Keith Smith, Boyd Gaming Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. "We've not only accomplished that, but we will also realize a tremendous level of bottom-line savings and efficiency improvements with Alliance's ticketing and cashless products, while giving our players an enhanced level of service and rewards."

The corporate agreement follows the previous announcement that Boyd Gaming will open its showcase property, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, in Atlantic City this summer with the ACSC integrated slot marketing and casino management system.

Recognized as the industry leader with approximately 217,000 game monitoring units and 187 casino customers worldwide, the Bally Systems product line offers slot machine cash monitoring, accounting, security, maintenance, marketing, promotional and bonusing capabilities, enabling operators to accurately analyze performance and accountability while providing an enhanced level of customer service.

Alliance Gaming is a diversified gaming company with headquarters in Las Vegas. The Company is engaged in the design, manufacture, operation and distribution of advanced gaming devices and systems worldwide, and is the nation's largest gaming machine route operator and operates two casinos.

Headquartered in Las Vegas, Boyd Gaming Corporation (NYSE: BYD) is a leading diversified owner and operator of 12 gaming entertainment properties located in Nevada, Mississippi, Illinois, Indiana and Louisiana.
