Alliance Gaming Announces Additional Commitments For Betty Boop in Atlantic City

20 June 2000

LAS VEGAS, June 19 (Press Release) -- Alliance Gaming Corp. (Nasdaq: ALLY - news) announced today that it has received commitments for 95 more Betty Boop wide-area progressive games to be placed in the Atlantic City market upon the successful completion of the field trial expected in early August 2000.

The additional 95 Betty Boop's Big Hit games at multiple locations will join the link that includes 83 field-trial units that are currently among the most popular progressive games on the floor at Bally's Park Place, Wild Wild West, Atlantic City Hilton and Caesars Atlantic City.

With an integrated marketing, advertising and promotional campaign creating a high level of awareness in the market, six casinos not part of the field trial have been able to capitalize on the popularity of Betty Boop by ordering Betty Boop's Love Meter, a stand-alone non-progressive game on a per-day rental fee.

``Betty Boop's status as a cultural icon is especially evident on the East Coast and we look forward to the successful completion of the field trial and moving quickly to placing additional units into this market,'' said Robert Miodunski, President and Chief Operating Officer of Alliance Gaming.

``The Park Place Entertainment properties in Atlantic City are very pleased with the initial performance of Betty Boop's Big Hit. The popularity of the games has exceeded our expectations and the Betty Boop theme has added an exciting new entertainment dimension to the slot floor,'' said Dave Lyons, Senior Vice President of Slot Operations for Park Place Entertainment properties in Atlantic City.

The Company also stated that the value of the previously announced shipments of gaming devices and its SDS® slot accounting system to California will total approximately $5.0 million during the quarter ended June 30, 2000. Players began experiencing the very first Bally Gaming machines in California on Friday, June 16, when Casino Morongo near Palm Springs went live with a variety of proven Bally Gaming titles, including Blazing 7s®, Roaring 20s®, Black & White® and Wild Rose®.

``We're off to a good start in California,'' Miodunski said. ``Shipments of games have begun and installation of SDS at two of the premier properties in Southern California is ongoing.''

Additionally, the Company announced that Bally Gaming is also experiencing a strong level of interest in its products internationally. Through its international sales office based in Hanover, Germany, Bally Gaming recently signed a contract for a 1,000-machine order with a leading casino operator in Russia. These games will be delivered over the next 12 months.
