All-Weather Track Proposed for Ireland15 August 2002IRELAND – As reported by the Thoroughbred Times: "A group of investors has proposed to build an all-weather racetrack in Ireland at a cost of about $25-million as part of the Campus Stadium Ireland project at Abbotstown in Dublin. "The Prospero consortium, which includes Bovis and IMG, is one of four groups that has proposed plans for the national stadium and sports campus. Horse Racing Ireland, the sport's national governing body, is supporting the Propsero plan, Business & Finance magazine reports. "…The all-weather track would allow year-round racing in Ireland and would add another 104 meetings to the racing calendar…" |
