All Indiana Riverboat Casinos to Offer Dockside Gambling15 July 2002INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – As reported by the Chicago Tribune: "All 10 riverboat casinos in Indiana have decided to offer dockside gambling and be subjected to higher wagering taxes under a law enacted by the General Assembly last month. "The casinos met a Friday deadline for submitting formal plans to the Indiana Gaming Commission for making the change to open boarding, said commission spokeswoman Jennifer Arnold. "Indiana law previously required the boats to cruise on established schedules. "…In exchange for dockside rights, the casinos will be subjected to a new graduated wagering tax structure. "At the top scale, casino wagering revenue above $150 million will be taxed at a 35 percent rate, compared with a flat 20 percent now…" |
