Alberta VLT's to Flash Anti-Addiction Messages13 January 2003CALGARY, Canada -- As reported by the CBC: ``The Alberta government is replacing its video lottery terminals with new models that flash messages aimed at helping problem gamblers. ``The pop-up messages will tell the gambler how long they've been on the machine and how much money they've spent. ``A clock will be displayed at all times, the the number of spins will be shown in both credits and dollars. ``...It will cost $105 million to replace the 6,000 machines in Alberta, one-sixth of what the government makes in gambling revenue each year..." |
