Air Jamaica Presents 2nd Annual World Championship of Dominoes

The 2000 event is to be held at the Renaissance Jamaica Grande Hotel in Ocho Rios, Jamaica from October 26 through October 29, 2000. Close to five hundred two-player teams will compete to win over $150,000 in cash and prizes and it will be distributed as follows:

$25,000 while be awarded to the winning team

$15,000 to the Second Runners-up

$10,000 to the Third Runners-up

$ 5,000 to the Fourth Runners-up

$ 2,500 to the Fifth Runners-up plus two tickets on Air Jamaica each

The first round of games, which will span a two-day period with seven sessions of Best of 3, is slated to begin promptly at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 26. On Saturday, October 28, the top 16 teams will move on to the second round of the tournament, the Knock-Out Competition, where they will vie for the title of World Champion.

The top 100 teams will receive prizes. The cost of registration is US$100 per person or US$200 per two-player team. Since seat availability is limited, participants are requested to register in advance. Registration can be completed at any Air Jamaica sales office.
