Agua Caliente Casino Throws Doors Open at Midnight

6 April 2001

CALIFORNIA –— As reported by the California Desert Sun: "…When the glass doors open at midnight and the gamblers barge through, the Agua Caliente Casino will finally come to life.

"The $90 million casino is the first in the Coachella Valley and the second in California to be built from the ground up as a Las Vegas-style casino.

"…When designers dreamed up the Agua Caliente Casino they turned to a different model.

"…The Agua Caliente Casino will open with 1,000 slot machines, 30 table games and an eight-table poker room.

"The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians will thus become the first tribe in the state to own two casinos.

"Before customers put down their bets, the tribe is hosting a series of private events for its members, the media and invited guests.
