AG Ieyoub To Discuss Former Gov. Edwards Phone Conversation26 October 2000BATON ROUGE, Louisiana – Oct. 26, 2000 – As reported by The Associated Press: " Attorney General Richard Ieyoub on Wednesday promised that he will discuss a secretly recorded telephone conversation between his first assistant and former Gov. Edwin Edwards about a possible case involving Edwards' brother. "…During the taped conversation, Koury advises Edwards of a criminal matter that might come up concerning Edwards' brother, Marion. "…The conversation came out during Edwards' trial on racketeering charges stemming from the licensing of riverboat casino. Edwards was convicted in the case and will be sentenced in December.
