Acres-Fiore, Bally Technologies team up

6 August 2008

LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Acres-Fiore Inc., an innovator in the development of recreational gambling content, today announced a strategic partnership with Bally Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: BYI). The partnership calls for Bally to make an equity investment of $6 million in Acres-Fiore under certain circumstances and provides Bally exclusive use of Acres-Fiore designs for a minimum of three years. During this period, Acres-Fiore will develop its concepts using Bally products, test the designs on casino floors around the world, and license resulting successful products back to Bally for production and sale in return for recurring royalties.

Over the past year, Acre-Fiore has written over 30 patent applications centered on a new technology called Personalized Gaming™, which automatically adapts the behavior of gaming machines to the physiographic profile of each player. "Players are individuals, and respond best to an individually customized gaming experience. No longer must players wander the casino in search of a suitable game. When a player sits down at a game built with Personalized Gaming technology, its characteristics automatically adapt to that specific player's personality," said John Acres, Chief Executive Officer of Acres-Fiore.

Acres added, "Each game behaves differently for each player. Personalized Gaming technology revolutionizes the casino floor by delivering heightened emotional gratification to players while simultaneously increasing play volume and profits for casinos. This requires a truly advanced and extensible platform on which to run. Bally's Alpha Game Platform®, combined with its Networked Floor of the Future™, is the first platform powerful enough to deliver the promise of Personalized Gaming. Just as importantly, Bally's organization possesses open-minded foresight and demonstrated accomplishment. I'm amazed at how much Bally has advanced over the past three years. We're thrilled to have Bally as a partner."

Richard Fiore, Chief Creative Officer of Acres-Fiore, said, "As a creative designer, I'm impressed by the speed with which the Alpha platform can be programmed to deliver high-quality content to players. This lets me immediately deliver great standalone games to the industry while also building the long-term foundation on which Personalized Gaming technology rests. Bally has proven its commitment to innovation even when it comes from outside partners such as Acres-Fiore. We expect to introduce the first of these games, Paychaser™ and Members Bonus™, in southern California tribal casinos later this year."

"We recognize the strong innovation abilities of Acres-Fiore," said Richard M. Haddrill, Bally Technologies' Chief Executive Officer. "John has a long track record as an industry visionary and Rich is a creative force of proven ability. Just as John's membership in Bally's recently announced Office of the Chief Technology Officer adds to our creative capability, this partnership maximizes the value of our technology while delivering better value to our casino customers and a greater return to our investors."
