A New One-Stop Lottery Resource Site

The North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL) has launched a new website that features a highly comprehensive collection of lottery industry information and resources.

The site, located http://www.naspl.org, will display a broad range of data and facts including: at NASPL's Web site features a broad range of data and facts, including:

  • up-to-date sales and proceeds data for lotteries worldwide;
  • an extensive compulsive gambling reference site;
  • information on gambling demographics and research;
  • who's who lottery industry contact information, links to lottery websites worldwide and links to lottery vendors and trade press;
  • statistics on aggregate dollar amounts state lotteries provide to support local and state government programs and services such as parks and recreation, education, and environment and natural resources;
  • detailed industry background and history of lotteries;
  • demographic information on the average lottery player and frequency of play;
  • a glossary of lottery terms and a calendar of lottery industry events;
  • information on the National Gambling Impact Study Commission.

Regarding the benefits of the site, NASPL President George Anderson explained, "Lotteries are not only a source of entertainment, they are an important source of public revenue. NASPL's new Web site is a one-stop information resource on lotteries. We designed it to help people learn about lotteries and how they benefit the communities that have chosen to implement them."

NASPL, founded in 1971, represents 46 lottery organizations throughout North America. Its mission is to collect and disseminate information on the benefits of state and provincial lottery organizations. Specifically, it provides a central information resource so the lottery industry can share with others its expertise, resources and advice. It also serves as a national voice on common lottery issues and causes.
