A 'Grand' Opening

30 March 1999

The Grand Terrace Hotel, the third hotel at the Grand Casino Tunica complex in Tunica, Mississippi, has opened its doors to the public. The new $72 million facility joins the 188-room Grand Casino Hotel and the 578-room Grand Veranda Hotel.

The property features luxury guest accommodations, a full-service spa and salon, a fitness area, steam rooms, saunas and immersion tubs. The spa offers five types of massage, two forms of water treatment and five different body treatments.

"The Grand Terrace Hotel is unique in the Tunica marketplace thanks to our fantastic spa," said Chuck Miller, executive vice president and general manager of Grand Casino Tunica. "With the Cottonwoods Golf Course and Willows Sporting Clays already open, the Grand Terrace Spa is the best amenity to balance the resort and help provide something for everyone." Located just 20 miles south of Memphis on U.S. Highway 61, Grand Casino Tunica is the largest gaming resort between Las Vegas and Atlantic City. The casino features more than 3,100 slots, more than 100 table games, seven restaurants and live entertainment. Other resort amenities include Willows Sporting Clays Center, the Hale Irwin-designed Cottonwoods Golf Course, a 48,000 sq. ft. Convention Center, Kids Quest Child Care Center and the Grand Arcade. Grand Casino Tunica is owned and operated by Park Place Entertainment, a gaming company with a leading presence in Nevada, New Jersey and Mississippi--the three largest gaming markets in the United States. In 1999, the company will own or have an interest in 17 gaming properties located throughout the United States and in Australia and Uruguay, with a total of 1.4 million square feet of gaming space and approximately 23,000 hotel rooms. For reservations at any of the three Grand Casino Resorts, call 800/39-GRAND.
