A Decent Proposal

22 July 1998

LAS VEGAS -- Corey Lambert, a Tropicana Resort and Casino security officer, cooked up a nifty scheme for proposing to his girlfriend that was sure to make for a memorable moment.

He protected intentions so well that only a few lucky co-workers and friends were in on the plans. He enlisted the assistance of Tropicana's Director of Table Games Doug Gomes, his best friends and, of course, the surveillance department.

When his friends approached the blackjack table, his girlfriend Melissa Fanciullo, a dealer at the casino, dealt the cards in normal fashion. When she revealed the card that stated, "Will You Marry Me?," however, she was baffled until she saw her boyfriend pull an engagement ring from his pocket and assume the old-fashioned kneel.

A shocked Fanciullo replied "Yes" and in true romantic fashion, Lambert swept her off her feet and carried her to a waiting limousine.

The happy couple were married that afternoon and are currently honeymooning. Their co-workers and friends are replaying the Cinderella story videotape.
