888 envisages strong end to year10 September 2007GIBRALTAR -- As reported by the BBC: "Online gambling firm 888.com has seen first-half profit fall because of a US crackdown on offshore gaming Web sites. "It reported first-half pretax profit of $19m(£9.34m), less than half the figure of $48m it earned a year ago, but is predicting a strong finish to 2007. "Gibraltar-based 888 pulled out of the US last year following the approval of a new law effectively banning all foreign internet gaming websites.
