71 Year-Old Woman Wins $1.57 Million MegaJackpot

TEMECULA, California--(Press Release)--July 17, 2001-- ``Friday the 13th turned out to be my lucky day!'' said a 71 year-old Menifee, California resident who won a $1,570,680 jackpot on the evening of Friday, July 13, 2001 at Pechanga Entertainment Center in Temecula.

The lucky winner, who asked to remain anonymous, has been visiting Pechanga since it opened in 1994 and says, ``It pays to play at Pechanga!'' When asked what she will do with her winnings, she said, ``This will give me a chance to take some time off, start my retirement and take a trip to visit my 91 year-old mother.''

Anthony Miranda, president of Pechanga Development Corp., commented, ``We are pleased and excited that one of our players hit the Wheel of Fortune progressive jackpot. Because of the high volume of play we enjoy, Pechanga pays about 10,000 jackpots each week, but not in the $1.5 million league.
