3 MEN CONVICTED IN CHEATING RING

17 people were charged in cheating ring that stole millions of dollars from Las Vegas casinos. Eight of them have pleaded guilty and are awaiting sentencing. Four are fugitives, another died and one has been convicted of attempted murder in Canada. Last Friday, 3 of them were convicted of felony racketeering conspiracy and sentenced to 4 - 18 months in federal prison. According to the prosecutors, the three were part of an organization that won millions in baccarat and blackjack games by crimping and marking playing cards. They were accused of cheating at Harrah''s, New Yourk-New york, the Riviera and the MGM Grand on the Strip, as well as the Rio and Gold Coast. They are also accused of grifting casinos in Lake Tahoe, Atlantic City and Canada. U.S. District Judge Hunt also ordered them to pay more than US3 million dollars compensation.
