29-Year-Old Wins 2nd Annual Jack Binion World Poker Open

TUNICA, Mississippi – (Press Release) -- The battle for the championship title of the 2nd Annual Jack Binion World Poker Open (presented by Horseshoe Casino and Gold Strike Casino Resort) came to an end just before 6:00 P.M. Friday, April 13. with 29-year-old winner John Juanda (part-time professional poker player) from Alhambra, CA taking home over $283,000 in cash.

Coming in 2nd place was 34-year-old self-employed businessman Scott O'Bryan from Kokomo, Indiana, who has won several poker competitions. O'Bryan took home over $141,000. The 3rd place winner was Memphian Brian Moore, a 55-year-old former stockbroker who incidentally had never entered a poker tournament before this one. He still took home just over $70,000 for his 3rd place win.

The total purse for today's finale (Championship No-Limit Texas Hold 'Em) was $708,100. The tournament began on March 24th and has had over 3100 players to enter the 18 events and had a total purse of over $3.5 million dollars.
