100-Year-Old Fined for Illegal Gambling in Hong Kong

HONG KONG – As reported by the Associated Press: ``Hong Kong authorities may be struggling in their fight against illegal online gambling, but they're scoring some wins against the crowds of elderly gamblers who play in the city's public parks.

``A local court fined 100-year-old Lee Yung-mui and six other senior citizens 300 Hong Kong dollars ($38 U.S.) apiece for illegal betting on a card game in a public park -- a common pastime among the elderly here, the Chinese language newspapers Ming Pao and Apple Daily reported today.

``…The government is struggling to come up with ways to fight online gambling, another popular form of illegal gambling…"
