$5 Million Slot Win at Grand Casino Biloxi

20 May 2003

BILOXI, Mississippi -- (Press Release) -- Robert J. Cross, a 64-year-old resident of Hernando, Florida hit a MegabucksĀ® slot jackpot worth $5,498,301.58 on Sunday, May 18, 2003 at Grand Casino Biloxi.

This is the fourth jackpot in the Biloxi area won on an IGT (NYSE: IGT) MegaJackpots(TM) game in just the last two months. Three other previous winners were announced, bringing the total winnings in the last two months to over $13 million in the Biloxi area for MegaJackpots(TM) winners.

"I always play Megabucks and finally it paid off," said a very surprised Cross. He had never been to Mississippi before and some friends had talked him into coming. They were with him when he won. "The machine was hitting, so I knew it was a good machine. At the moment, I am numb and cannot believe it," he added. Cross said that his wife wants to purchase a new SUV, but says that he will not let this win change his life, although he does admit, "life will be easier."

The jackpot is paid when a player plays the maximum bet ($3.00) and lines up all three winning symbols on the appropriate pay line. After the jackpot is verified, the Megabucks meter is reset at $1,000,000. The Megabucks is one of 15 Mississippi MegaJackpots(TM) systems operated by IGT, a world leader in the manufacturing of gaming machines and proprietary software for progressive gaming systems. All IGT MegaJackpots(TM) awards are paid in annual installments upon verification, except MegaJackpots(TM) Instant Winners(TM) jackpots and Rapid Riches MegaJackpots(TM) awards, which are paid in their entirety upon verification.
