$11.6 Millions Lottery Ticket Unclaimed

RICHMOND, Virginia – As reported by the Virginia Daily Press: "The owner of a winning Lotto South lottery ticket worth $11.6 million missed the deadline Monday to collect the jackpot.

"A ticket with the winning numbers 1, 2, 24, 32, 37 and 41 was sold at the Virginia Lottery's state fair booth on Oct. 2 _ `Senior's Day.' By law, the winner has 180 days to come forward with the ticket.

"…`This is the largest jackpot to go unclaimed in the history of the Virginia Lottery,' said Virginia Lottery Executive Director Penelope W. Kyle. `You just have to wonder what happened to that winning ticket.'…"
