Yonkers hits slot jackpot

ALBANY, New York – As reported by the New York Post: "The video slot-machine parlor at Yonkers Raceway has hit the jackpot since opening last month.

"The 'racino' has taken in $18.3 million in net revenue from Oct. 12, when it opened, through Nov. 11, state Division of Lottery figures show.

"Yonkers is the largest of eight video slot-machine parlors in the state, with one-quarter of the overall number of machines. It has taken in one-third of the overall revenue since opening.

"…Officials say this money will benefit New York schools, because at least 50 percent of the net revenue goes to education…"
