Gaming NewsWashington tribe plans casino1 August 2007WASHINGTON -- As reported by the Kitsap Sun: "Plans are afoot on the Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe Reservation to build a new casino, tribal government and business officials confirmed. "And a new gaming facility isn't the only thing planned for about 80 acres off Hansville Road. There could be retail, a business park and housing, and tribal economic development officials are looking to expand fiber optic Internet services off reservation. "S'Klallam Chairman Ron Charles said a 'fast track' planning effort for a new casino is expected to begin in the coming weeks and construction could begin as soon as the end of the year if all goes as planned. "...The tribe transformed a bingo hall into The Point Casino in 2002, with 150 gaming machines. "Since, the casino has undergone three upgrades, expanded from 12,000 square feet to 17,000 square feet and increased the number of gaming machines to 581, casino general manager Leo Culloo said..." |
