Gaming NewsWashington casino hires new CEO6 May 2011SNOQUALMIE, Washington -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Casino Snoqualmie, the closest gaming facility to Seattle, today, announced the appointment of Jon T. Jenkins as the chief executive officer (CEO) of its property. Jenkins takes the position after more than 30 years in the gaming industry, half of which has been spent in association with tribal casinos. In addition to his vast knowledge and experience in gaming, Jenkins has an extensive background in both the marketing and hospitality sides of the business. “Snoqaulmie Casino is among the most beautiful and well-established gaming facilities in the Northwest. I look forward to joining efforts and contributing to enhance the experience for both customers and employees,” said Jon T. Jenkins, CEO of Casino Snoqualmie. Jenkins officially began his role as CEO on April 18. In the role, he will lead the strategic direction for all gaming operations, as well as represent the gaming operations to the financial and business communities, customers, employees, government agencies and tribal leadership. Mary-Anne Hinzman, Vice-Chair of the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe, commented, “We have known Jon for a number of years and admire his management style, as well as his respect for our culture and traditions.” Prior to joining Snoqualmie Casino, Jenkins spent nearly 14 years as president and CEO of Casino Arizona and Talking Stick Resort. Under his leadership, both properties became two of the highest volume businesses in Arizona. Also in the state, Jenkins developed and operated the Apache Gold Resort for the San Carlos Apache Tribe. Additionally, he co-founded Game Plan, Inc., a public company that managed gaming services for the two Menominee Nation casinos near Green Bay, Wisconsin. “It is with much excitement and anticipation that I accept this new position,” said Jenkins. “I have admired the Snoqualmie property success, and enjoyed knowing many of the Snoqualmie tribal members.
