Virus plagues horses at Calder Race Course

MIAMI GARDENS, Florida -- Three barns are under quarantine at Calder Race Course, the Miami Herald reports.

A horse tested positive for the EVH-1 equine herpesvirus, according to the report.

EVH-1 spreads between horses provoking flu-like symptoms.

No horse housed in the quarantined barns will be permitted to race for three weeks, the Miami Herald report said.
