Viejas Casino offers free meal at Harvest Buffet on September 13

24 August 2011

SAN DIEGO, California -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Viejas Casino, Southern California’s premier gaming, dining and entertainment destination, is celebrating its 20th Anniversary by offering the public a free meal at the award-winning Harvest Buffet. That’s a free meal – no strings attached – from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13.

“Viejas Casino officially opened its doors on September 13, 1991, and we’ve been a favorite entertainment destination ever since”

“Viejas Casino officially opened its doors on September 13, 1991, and we’ve been a favorite entertainment destination ever since,” said Viejas Tribal Chairman Anthony R. Pico. “Offering a free meal is a way to say ‘Thank You!’ to our dedicated guests and everyone in San Diego who has been so supportive of Viejas for the past two decades. It’s very humbling to reflect on the past 20 years, as tribal government gaming has provided our Tribal Community the opportunity for economic self-reliance and self-governance. Giving back to the community and sharing with others is part of our tribal culture going back tens of thousands of years, so this offer of a free meal is a fitting way to show our appreciation.”

In order to handle the anticipated crowd as efficiently as possible, the free meal will be offered as a plated serving available in the Harvest Buffet from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Guests are asked to plan ahead, allow plenty of time for traffic and expected crowds at the Casino. As a convenience to guests and to reduce expected traffic delays, Viejas is adding 25 more free round-trip bus runs from El Cajon and three more from North County. The offer will be fulfilled on a first come, first served basis and does not require a V-Club card.
