UAW makes progress with Tropicana vote

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey -- The UAW is making strides expanding its membership as it successfully negotiated its first contract, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Recently Tropicana Casino workers voted in favour of a contract, which will give the union 700 new members, the report said.

The union wants to win other contracts with casinos, the Detroit Free Press said.

A large number of casino workers voted to unionize in Atlantic City and the UAW wants other casinos to negotiate with them, the Detroit Free Press reported.
