Turning Stone brings a bit of Vegas to NY

28 April 2008

NEW YORK -- As reported by the New York Daily News: "Nestled in the heart of central New York's picturesque Mohawk Valley - made famous in the Leatherstocking tales of James Fenimore Cooper - the 1,200-acre Turning Stone resort in Verona is the largest golf, spa and entertainment complex in the Northeast.

"Just half an hour east of Syracuse, the four hotels, five golf courses, two spas, concert hall, nightclub, casino and heliport welcome more than 4 million visitors a year, making the home of the Oneida Indian Nation one of the top five tourist destinations in New York State.

"No wonder, Turning Stone is like a city unto itself - minus the city, thankfully - offering a serene weekend in the country that's only steps from round-the-clock fun both indoors and out.

"...Who could forget the casino, the first in New York State? Blackjack, craps, three-card and roulette - all the usual suspects - are well represented across 130 tables. Instant multigame machines, 2,400 of them, are the Oneida's patented cashless answer to traditional slots. Aside from the traditional slots format, gamers can bet on popular diversions such as Battleship, Yahtzee, Trivial Pursuit and Ripley's Believe It or Not. Plus there's a brand-new poker room so you can go 'all in.'"
