Tropicana Atlantic City's Taste of the Quarter raises over $25,000 for United Way

22 August 2017

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Amid the excitement of The Tropicana Atlantic City Casino & Resort, 800 guests mixed, mingled, sampled and savored at the 10th annual Taste of the Quarter event on 21 August. While attendees indulged in a spectacular array of culinary and beverage offerings, the evening raised over $25,000 benefitting United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey (UWGPSNJ) in Atlantic County.

“Ten years we have partnered with United Way, and each year it gets bigger and better,” said Steve Callender, General Manager for Tropicana Atlantic City. “This year we had over 25 participating locations, 800 attendees, and raised over $25,000 for United Way. Thank you to all of our participating organizers, volunteers and supporters who make Tropicana’s Taste of the Quarter fun and successful for all.”

Participants who bought a $30 ticket were given samples from more than 25 Tropicana dining destinations including Olón and Okatshe by award-winning Chef Jose Garces, Carmine’s, The Palm, Rí Rá Irish Pub, Cuba Libre, and Chickie’s & Pete’s Crab House and Sports Bar.

"Tropicana's Taste of the Quarter is more than an enjoyable night out - it's the perfect example that when we come together, we do more," said Jim Cawley, United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey's President and CEO. "Thanks to everyone involved, from Tropicana management, restaurant staff, celebrity chefs and attendees, United Way is in a better position to continue advance our work in improving Education, Income and Health, as well as providing Basic Needs supports when our residents need them most."

Thank you to all of our participating celebrity chefs at this year’s 10th Annual Taste of the Quarter:
