Treasure Island's new event center about to open

7 August 2008

RED WING, Minnesota -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- On August 30, 2008, Treasure Island Resort & Casino's brand new event center will officially open its doors to an impressive lineup of nationally prominent entertainers. The showroom is part of a $50 million entertainment addition at the Island, which also features 230 more hotel rooms, including exclusive presidential and governor suites, and a 24-lane bowling alley complete with an arcade and lounge. The event center will double as a convention center as well, with the ability to separate into as many as six rooms of elegant, functional meeting space.

The 30,000 square-foot area allows for up to 3,000 people for headlining entertainment, tripling Treasure Island's former event space. Tiered, comfortable seating can be moved in and out of the walls as needed, and no audience member will find themselves further than 125 feet from the 32 by 48 foot stage, providing guests with an intimate setting to see their favorite performers.

The new event center is home to premier audio and visual equipment, such as the Elacoustics Linerray V-Dos Sound System, which cannot be found at any other casino in Minnesota. There are also two 14 by 24 foot retractable screens, which further enhance the great sightlines.

Tickets are available through the Treasure Island Box Office online, over the phone and on a walk-up basis. Because all tickets are bought directly through the venue, there are absolutely no required fees. Guests can also sign up for Treasure Island's "Island Call" emails to get an exclusive chance to buy tickets one day before the general public by visiting www.treasureislandcasino.com.
