Treasure Island yacht sets sail

28 May 2008

RED WING, Minnesota -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Treasure Island Resort & Casino is thrilled for Spirit of the Water to set sail for the season on Sunday, June 1. With Captain Sid Melancon at the helm of the ship for his second year, the 120-passenger luxury cruise yacht offers brunch, lunch, and dinner cruises down the Mighty Mississippi.

Each trip along the river is a sight to behold. Whether you choose to cruise midday or in the evening, the majestic scenery will take your breath away. Regal bluffs and sparkling water surround passengers on their voyage, and dinner guests may even witness a gorgeous sunset on the river.

As always, the food aboard is a delicious experience. New to the menu is an omelet station so guests can have their eggs made to order. Passengers will also see the return of old favorites such as the popular walleye, prime rib, and stuffed chicken that are served Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.

Captain Melancon's favorite part of the cruises is interacting with Treasure Island's guests. "Cruising on Spirit of the Water is a unique experience, and I'm always excited to visit with the guests and share my knowledge of the Mississippi River," he explained.

Spirit of the Water has two decks, each with its own bar and indoor as well as outdoor seating. For private charters, either one or both decks can be reserved, depending on party size. Private charters can be booked at any time.

Reservations for public cruises are taken up to four weeks in advance and are available Monday – Sunday. Tickets are $26.95 – $34.95, and for children 10 & under they are $19.95 – $24.95. The season ends October 25. For more information regarding Treasure Island's Spirit of the Water, please call 1-800-222-7077.
