The A at Grand Sierra Resort and Casino awarded AAA Four Diamond rating

29 November 2019

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The A, the distinctive hotel tower at Grand Sierra Resort and Casino, recently joined the ranks of elite hotels across the country earning a Four Diamond rating from AAA for its superior quality and service offerings.

A AAA Four Diamond rating denotes a hotel that is refined, stylish with upscale physical attributes, extensive amenities and a high degree of hospitality, service and attention to detail. AAA has been conducting on-site evaluations and publishing the results of those evaluations since 1937 to ensure members have the tools necessary to make informed travel decisions. Less than five percent of hotels receive a AAA Four Diamond rating.

The A at Grand Sierra offers luxury hotel rooms, studios and suites featuring bright, modern décor, decadently comfortable bedding and spa-inspired bathroom retreats.

The A features king and queen rooms, deluxe rooms, as well as Executive, Studio and Director Suites. The beautifully appointed King and Queen rooms at The A come with premium furnishings and bright modern décor offering a luxurious escape. The A Deluxe King or Queen rooms feature a decadently comfortable bed, spa-inspired bathroom retreat and an additional lounge area. The A Executive Suite offers the convenience of the office with the comforts of home in a bright and stylish setting. The suite includes a lounge area and writing desk in addition to plush accommodations. The Grand Studio Suite at The A offers plenty of space complete with a semi-separated sleeping area. The suite boasts modern décor, deluxe furnishing and a long list of resort amenities. The Director Suite at The A provides the perfect space for a luxurious getaway with enough space to entertain family and friends.

Recognized as northern Nevada’s premier resort, GSR has received more than $200 million in resort upgrades since 2011 when the property was purchased by Alex Meruelo, founder of The Meruelo Group. Since that time, the resort has seen updates to its nearly 2,000 hotel rooms and casino floor; a transformation of The Pool, a year-round outdoor oasis; renovations of its 200,000 square feet of meeting and convention space; an all-new Infinity High Limit game room; an applauded renovation of its historic Grand Theater; the creation of the wildly popular LEX Nightclub; the addition of northern Nevada’s largest race and sports book; new restaurants and more to create an unparalleled guest experience.

Meruelo’s property in Las Vegas, SAHARA Las Vegas, is also home to a AAA Four Diamond-rated hotel tower, Alexandria. Like the transformation of GSR, since taking ownership of SAHARA in April 2018, Meruelo has invested more than $150 million into the iconic Strip resort including updates to its casino floor, hotel rooms and corridors, new restaurants and more.
