Tachi Palace casino finds success with Softbrands

20 July 2007

MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- SoftBrands, Inc. (Amex: SBN), a global supplier of enterprise application software, announces early success at the Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino in Lemoore, CA, with its utilization of SoftBrands Karyon Distribution Service. Tachi Palace began using Karyon distribution services in March 2007 to increase bookings at its 255-room hotel. In addition to the hotel, the property also includes a spa and casino.

Karyon, a service of SoftBrands hospitality division, provides independent hoteliers, groups and management companies with tools and resources to succeed in the highly competitive distribution marketplace. Karyon delivers a unique solution for reservation management, representation services, internet services and electronic distribution for any size or scale of property by providing seamless, real-time connectivity to online sources of hotel reservations such as the Global Distribution Systems and thousands of online travel sites. Karyon gives hoteliers immediate electronic access to a single version of all rates and availability without the burden of room allotments and manual adjustments by individual segment or channel.

"We selected Karyon for its technology and its people and we're very pleased with both," said Michaela Bell, front office manager for Tachi Palace Hotel. "Updating inventory and rates using Karyon couldn't be simpler. Email delivery of reservations is seamless and the tracking and reporting are very cohesive."

As a service organization, Karyon employs a strategy of hands-on, "high-touch" assistance to its member properties. Strategic Distribution Advisors are specifically assigned to each hotel for the long-term to help develop consistent individual rate and distribution strategies tailored for each property as well as to deploy the necessary tactics to achieve success.

"Tachi Palace needed a distribution provider who would understand their needs, provide expert advice and respond in a timely manner. They were looking for a partner who could provide a two-way interface to their current property management system and offer travel agent commission processing while driving more business to them through new channels," said Gregg Hopkins, vice president and general manager of Karyon.

Powered by SoftBrands' internet-native central reservations and web portal products, Karyon gives its members the ability to optimize revenue with complete control over their own inventory while at the same time helping to reduce operating costs while increasing bookings.
