Storm closes Harrah's Tunica temporarily

28 May 2008

TUNICA, Mississippi -- As reported by the WREG-TV News: "Harrah's Casino is back in business after a storm shut down operations for several hours Monday night. Several casinos in Tunica lost electricity for at least an hour after power lines were blown down.

"Harrah's was closed the longest because lighting blew out a transformer.

"The casino has back up generators, but they weren't enough to keep the business going.

"Tuesday morning, Entergy was out repairing some of the down power lines and Harrah's was turning guests away.

"The Mississippi gaming commission forced Harrah's to shut down because some of the casinos surveillance equipment was not working..."
