State investigates Yonkers Raceway tellers

YONKERS, New York -- An investigation is underway by racing officials into betting by tellers at Yonkers Raceway reports The Journal News.

The tellers are suspected of illegally placing their own bets, harness-racing drivers and owners bets at the track, the Journal News reported.

The placement of such bets would be a clear violation of racing rules because tellers are prohibited from placing bets while on duty.

The track management is fully co-operating with the investigation, according to the Journal News report.
