MICHIGAN – As reported by the Michigan Morning Sun: "The new chief executive officer of the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort says he spent four days anonymously learning what the casino and hotel had to offer before deciding he'd take the job.
"'I spent time as a secret shopper here,' Andy Asselin said. 'It was a great opportunity. Soaring Eagle is renowned in gaming circles.'
"Asselin took over the top job at the mid-Michigan casino last week, replacing former CEO Mike Vautrin, who now runs casinos in Colorado.
"…Asselin takes over the Soaring Eagle at a time when the Tribal enterprise is facing challenges it has not faced before in its 10-year history. The Teamsters Union is attempting to organize casino workers, and revenue growth appears to have tapered off.
"…The new CEO said he wants to take a look at the entertainment offered by the casino. He expects entertainment to continue to be a major draw, with the goal of attracting visitors who will come for a show and play in the casino…"
